PAYING YOUR TICKET

WITHOUT A COURT APPEARANCE 

WARNING:  Paying a ticket without consulting with an attorney can have adverse consequences.  By paying at ticket you are pleading "Guilty."

1.  Please note there is a 4% convenience fee added when paying by credit card or debit card. 

2.  Some tickets require you to appear in court and the system will not allow you to pay these tickets online.

By Mail

1.     Call the Clerk of Court to verify that your ticket can be paid without a court appearance and to get the total amount.

2.     Please have your ticket(s) with you when you call so that you can give the Clerk the needed citation number(s).

3.     Payments by mail may be made only by money order.  Put your name and citation number(s) on your money order.  Sign the yellow copy of the citation on the back and return it with the your payment. 

4.     Mail your money order to Municipal Court, 119 South Lee Street, Americus, Georgia, 31709.

5.  If you mail your payment please insure that you mail it with sufficient time that it is received prior to your court date.  This responsibility is yours and not the courts.  If there is any doubt about there being sufficient time for the mail to reach the Court then deliver the payment.

In Person (at least one day before your court date)

        1.  Call the Clerk of Court to verify that your ticket can be paid

             without a court appearance and to get the total amount.

2.     Please have your ticket(s) with you when you call so that you can give the Clerk the needed citation number(s).

3.  Payments can be received up until 5:00pm on the day before your court date.  

4. Payments in person can be made by cash or money order.

5.  Payments can be made at the Americus Municipal Court,

            119 South Lee Street, Americus, Georgia, 31709.
